I’m looking for an affordable but good quality bike I can commute with and take on mildly difficult dirt trails. Is the REI bike really worth hundreds more?

I’d honestly just go with the Costco one, as it has a bulletproof warranty. I guess REI also has a great return policy for members. I’d start cheap and go more expensive if it doesn’t work out, as you can always exchange them.
