Here I am on 2003 OCR1 I bought to ride the odd time with the wife. It seems we may do duathlons.. for fun. I’d love a new bike.. do I NEEED one. That’s up for debate. I love a sale. I’d love the new tech in SHIM 105 di2. But here in Canada that’s $1300-1600 boost in bike price.
Found a …
cervelo Caledonia with 105 for $3199!! If it was matte black I’d drive the 4hr and grab it
Canyon endurace 7 CF are $3350 (wish longer than 6yr warranty)
Found argon 18 gallium CS for $2499. Can’t find anything on this bike! Think it might be around 18# tho! I’d love KRYPTON. BUT THATA $4300
I’m 5’11.5” and 34-36” inseam crammed to my butt bone. Apparently a medium. Quite a few in other SUB said this OCR too small. It’s 55cm.
Anyway. Would love to hear input/suggestions.
Thanks!

105 di2 is indeed nice, but also make sure you’re getting a bike with good wheels and tires, and good geometry and fit. Those take precedence of electronic vs mechanical imo.
Tbh the Canyon is probably the best value pick here. And 6 year warranty is also definitely the best of all those other options.
Unless you’re buying used or saving more than 40% on these „Brand“ Bikes like Cervelo with f.e buying used, the Canyon is probably always going to be the better choice.
Canyon is great value for money and will probably the most comfortable out of the bunch. Caledonia is nice but I don’t like the fact that the cables are not routed through the steering (it’s not the latest model anymore).
I got a slightly used Giant TCR lately and found it to come at an very appealing price point compared to other brands. Carbon wheels, Ultegra di2 etc. Rides like a dream.
Maybe it could be worth checking different versions of Defy and TCR out?
You can’t go wrong with Canyon Endurace either though, Cervelo has a high premium for it’s brand. Argon I’m not familiar with but I guess it’s fine since I see guys who’ve been cycling for decades pedaling those.
If you’re between sizes, size down if you want to feel sportier.
