It all began with the stiff shifting and after some time it just got broke while trying to shift the rear up. It downshifts fine but no upshifting. The gear is on the left, 3 tiered one.

Local bike shop said the ratchet is broken, is there anyway I can fix this? Or do I have to replace it?
