Going off your comment about cars going fast on Main St by Murphy, just before it goes under the 55, do you prefer faster car traffic so you can go faster too? (if you have a bike lane) or just lower speeds like along the downtown areas of Main St? (with no bike lane.) I figure they engineer the higher street speeds in sections with fewer lights and driveways into parking lots. Or you you find the faster car traffic unsafe?

If it makes you feel safe, do it.
People who get annoyed by the red light thing are usually people who don't use a bike for transportation.
