  1. Can’t be sure but it is likely to be too close to your bottom bracket and chainstay area for 30mm.

  2. 28mm is about the most width that can squeeze between fully open brake calipers without having to deflate the tire.

  3. Use a 5mm hex wrench as a thickness gauge and check clearance at the brake bridges and frame, including the seat tube and the seat stays. If you have 5mm of clearance you’re good to go to 30mm.

    If 5mm doesn’t clear, try a 4mm hex as a gauge. If that clears you may have enough clearance, depending on your rim and frame flex.

    If you have less than 4mm clearance, it’s definitely a no-go to 30mm.

    Also, check the actual width of your current 28mm tires, depending upon the tire and rim you may have an actual tire width that’s 1-2mm more or less than the nominal tire width.

    Depending on the tire. Tires with Kevlar will obviously have more thickness.

    It looks okay to me. I have installed tires with less than 1mm of room, and it works.

  5. Difficult to say. I would say that those brakes may struggle with 30mm

    A wider tire, depending on your rim width, will also be higher. Do you have clearance behind the seat tube?

    Wider tires might also “mushroom” on narrower rims and be wider than their advertised width.
