This is the pad-less caliper design. The pistons are supposed to weld itself onto the rotor for maximum stopping power.

You think you would of heard some squeaking sounds – me I just get screeching sounds from the rotor when I find out. I know my pads have that little metal clip that is suppose to warn you. I just carry an extra set in case I need one riding out here . Maybe that caliper is shot. I guess a new one would be better in replacement with new pad but how much$$$$ Some are kinda expensive.
