Cut a square out of a plastic soda bottle, bigger than the area affected. Place it between the tire and tube where the tire is torn/sliced. The tube won’t protrude through the hole in the tire anymore. We used to do this on sidewalls, where tires would usually fail back in the day.

This doesn’t help but I just want to say FUCK broken glass and people who smash bottles in the streets. My town has stopped sweeping, broken glass is everywhere. Sick of getting flats every single time I ride mane.

I reckon the plastic bottle inner patch mentioned previously plus some Shoe Goo on the outside, just to try and stop the splits from spreading.

Shoe Goo is nasty stuff but once cured it’s a pretty tough rubber-like compound.

Failing that, you could try Sugru if they still make it… although I’m not sure it would bond to the tyre as well as Shoe Goo would.
