Looked like a challenging route. Always nice to hear your local history knowledge Gordon.
A good road to get to the tower from Farnley tyes is to descend down woodsome Rd and take a sharp left down bank foot rdand onto lumb lane nice and quiet, and you'll need your 34×34😊
What do you prefer the dales or the Pennine's?
What bike are you riding on?

I've not looked at your stats, but I wouldn't be surprised if you did a fair amount of climbing on this one!
Brilliant bike ride that Gordon. So you climbed the Moss from Derbyshire side wow.. that is steep .fascinating always wondered what that monument was what you cycled to,great bit of history.
Great to see a new vid Gordon.. your history knowledge is brilliant and great to listen to.. I have my supersix evo 2 arriving next week 😊 ❤ well done on the ride looked awesome.. Pete 🚴🏻👍
Another great ride gordon ,i think its time for me to invest in a sat nav so i can get out on these roads ,i'll be out at the weekend warmer clothes may be needed its been a bit cooler this week
I appreciate your videos, thank you so much for sharing
I got a shock when I went outside yesterday, gloves in September ☹️loved last of the summer wine 👍when I was out I saw what I thought was a dead dog in the middle of the road but when I actually got to it it was a black fox. I looked it up when I got home very rare. Apparently it can be a sign of bad or good luck 🥴I hope it’s good luck. Love the history parts of your rides cheers
Great video, thank you for sharing the local and historical knowledge. I am now a subscriber…
These two points were on my bucket list when I got back into cycling a few years ago. I managed Castle Hill on a rather heavy hybrid bike with a mix and match groupset during a rare sunny day in January a few years back but took a while before tackling Holme Moss and that was on a much better Ribble bike with 105.
I do enjoy your uploads. They give me ideas of where to head out to at the weekend.
Good videos these of my old stomping ground, keep them coming ! Would be nice to grab your strava routes to give some of them a try !
Thanks, that's brilliant advice. 😊
Cracking vid as always 👍🏻
you're like a moth to the Holme moss magnet!
p.s. ! "carsle hill" ?
Decent stuff by the red car on the hill!
Excellent, love the history content.
