That looks like a single point of failure that could result in the lock falling into the spokes which could case a out of control skid that could case a fall/wreck. If at speed it could be dangerous

I always just put my u lock around the head tube and down tube with the removable portion at the top. Put some race tape on it if you want to protect the paint job.

If you already wear a belt, just slide the unlock between the belt and your body. It will hold in place

I strap mine to the top of the cargo rack with bungee cables on my ebike and throw it in the frame bag on my bicycle.
