i’m looking for a solid commuter/road bike. my old bike, which i invested $400-500 in, was stolen within a month of having it. locked it up in a not so great place to lock it and won’t be making that mistake again. i want something decently fast to keep up with my friends and their more serious 21-speed road bikes, but don’t love drop bars and scared of investing in something too nice for it to be stolen again. i’m new to biking so any advice is welcome, thank you!

Yes, the Schwinn is pretty and in great shape. But. it’s almost fifty years old. How about one of the other Quicks, one without the front shock absorber? lt would be a little lighter in weight, and somewhat faster on the road, than the CX. Not bad deals at 15-20% off. Between the two, based on how you will be riding it, the offer one will be a better ride. That shock on the other one will really slow you down.
