Hi everyone,
I recentlu bought a Canyon Grizl CF SL 8 Trail bike with a RockShox Rudy fork.
While trying to assemble the bike, I run into an issue removing the front thru-axle.
I turn the axle opposite the brake location counter-clockwise, but the axle doesn't come… I even get a rattling noise every time I turn it (once the right part seems to have unscrewed). Does anyone have any idea what's wrong? Canyon's online documentation and e-mail service aren't much help.
Thank you very much

Can you submit some closeups from both sides of the axle?
It looks like you have unscrewed the ‘Maxle’ insert.
See page 14 of this manual: [https://www.sram.com/globalassets/document-hierarchy/service-manuals/rockshox/front-suspension/2022-rudy-xplr-service-manual.pdf](https://www.sram.com/globalassets/document-hierarchy/service-manuals/rockshox/front-suspension/2022-rudy-xplr-service-manual.pdf)
The Maxle inserts are reverse threaded, but I think the axle itself should be normally threaded. Based on the pictures, I would try loosening from the non-disc side, but use an 8mm allen key to hold the disc side insert. You are probably just spinning the whole thing.
Once you have the axle out, I would reinstall the disc-side insert with some thread locker, so this doesn’t happen again. And make sure the axle threads are well greased when you reinstall.
