Save your money and buy a new-ish bike. A lot has changed in the past few years and you are better off looking for a deal on something new. I was at a trek store two weeks ago and almost all bikes were 20-30 percent off. For $600-900 usd you could be in a very legit hard tail bike with a decent groupo and shock.
