Paint isn’t infrastructure. I’d say it tells drivers you have a right to that part of the road, but really you have a right to the whole road. The paint is directing bike traffic against the flow of traffic based on the way cars are parked. Not a fan.

  2. On the bright side, cyclists in the green painted area, while in a door zone, are riding TOWARDS the cars that may door them. Hopefully they can be seen better by the driver. IF a door is opened in front of them and they hit it, they’re hitting it in the direction it closes, so the door would move with them, not stop after being collided with.

It’s not great, but could be worse. I’d ride as close to the white line in the middle as possible, assuming there are no oncoming cars.

They really should just remove that parking in the door zone. Having cars crossing the bike lane to park is stupid. Swapping the bike lanes and the parking is an option but creates other issues.
