Does not look correct. Acceptable is either straight forward or angled slightly inward. Outward is really unlikely to suit the anatomy of anyone.

Do whatever feels good to you, but hood flared outwards sounds very uncomfortable to me. I’d want them parallel to one another, or canted slightly inward. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone intensionally install them pointing out like that. it looks like it would be terrible for your wrists. think of holding a steering wheel or old-school mountain bike bar ends. pursuit bars on aero time trial/ triathlon bikes even have extensions that either point straight ahead, or inward, but never outward.

Should feel like a relaxed handshake when your hands are on them. This looks like a one-way ticket to wrist and shoulder pain.

  4. Generally, “no”, but whatever works for you is fine. I line mine up more or less with the drops, so looking down from above the hoods are pointing in towards the wheel and hoods and drops make a straight line. Essentially, if you took a standard road bike set up, and bent the hooks outwards at the top part of the curve.

There is no real “right” position in my opinion it’s all body geometry and what feels good to you. I like my hoods flared in and my friends like them vertical.

  6. that looks profoundly uncomfortable to brake from the hoods, but i dunno. people run hideous lever setups all the time and seem to love it

  7. I run my hoods parallel to the stem. Flaring them in is trendy on race bikes at an attempt to improving aerodynamics. Flaring them out is not done by anyone I know or follow. I also see no practical reason to performance or comfort in flaring them outwards.

    Otherwise, really cool bike.

  8. When you’re on the hoods the bar should be in the fold of your palm, otherwise all of the weight is on the weaker parts of your hands. As it’s setup now…I wouldn’t want to be your wrists. Your bike, your call.

  9. Since you’re asking, no. Textbook is completely straight but some people like to angle them inwards for comfort
