Hello everyone,
Me and my girlfriend are planning to do a crossing of the alps in the beginning of the October. As we've only done tours and most our my cycling in rather warm conditions, I wanted to ask on recommendations for clothing and if we would need any specific gear.
My current setup is:
- Scott Addict Gravel 40
- Ortlieb 11L QR Handlebar bag
- Ortlieb 16L saddle bag
- Apidura Expedition 4.5L Frame bag
- Apidura Race 1.5L short upper frame bag
For my girlfriend:
- Canyon Grail CF 7
- Apidura 11L handlebar bag
- Ortlieb 16L saddle bag
- Apidura Race 4L frame bag
- Apidura Race 2L long upper frame bag
The route is this one: https://www.komoot.de/tour/903254970/embed?image=1&hm=true&profile=1&width=640&height=700
The plan is to do in 4 days and sleeping in hotels – for the german speaking, we will be following the guide done on this website https://www.bikepackers.de/alpenueberquerung-mit-dem-gravelbike/
I imagine the temperatures would be varying between 0 and 15 depending on the part of the route (0ish at Timmelsjoch and above that in most other places). Do any of you have experiences or guides for this kind of weather, what kind of clothing do you bring, how do you layer or is there anything that we should really be paying attention to?
Thanks to all in advance!
