    Oops! Learning moment for sure. Next time ensure you have a soft plastic wedge between those pistons when you take out the pads.

    You’ll need to disconnect the fluid hose at the top of the caliper which will take away the pressure inside the caliper itself. I’d recommend flipping it upside down and draining out all the fluid. Once there’s no resistance to the pistons use something very soft (plastic ideally) to gently prise the pistons apart. It’ll start slow but eventually you’ll separate them back to full reset.

    The it’s back to the beginning of a setup. Insert a wedge, refill and bleed the caliper, clean everything properly, then fit the new pads.

    Next time remember how long it took to do this and that’ll help you remember the wedge 🙂
