I got this bike for free on Facebook marketplace. Color is very cool (orange crush) not sur what I'm gonna do with it yet. It's a pretty low end bike (steel wheels with freewheel and riveted crankset). I already stole the bars and shifters for other projects. I'm thinking of making it single speed but I would need new wheels and crankset. Thoughts?

My first thought was single speed, it’s a cool promotional bike. Not worth dumping a ton of money but would be cool to single speed and just use it as a “bar” bike
Single speed would be great, no derailleur hanger so you can get rid of that claw one and gain some more wheelbase! You don’t necessarily need different wheels, if you’re fine with the weight of these. Just unscrew the current freewheel and add a single-cog one. Also, orange is the best color out of all the colors, so there’s that.
