Not much in the way of original parts left there, eh? I’ve done a few projects like that as well.
I just picked up a 1985 Sagres, part of a package deal. It’s a bit too far gone to spend any real money on. In fact I almost trashed it because of the rusted cable guides on the top tube. I’ve decided to cut them off and sand and see how close I can come with a paint match using a low dollar approach with Testor’s model enamel.
I’m going to throw a picture in here of what it looked like. By now I’ve got it mostly stripped and rideable as a single speed 42×16, with new 27 inch tires and spare parts. It looks like it’ll be about 23 1/2 lbs when done.
