Hey all, posted a couple days ago asking advice about my Peugeot (PA-10 E) and today while cleaning it to convert to single speed I found this note stuffed in the handlebars! š®
Seems my neighbor or the owner before him stole (I assume thatās what āstoldā means) the bike from someone named Gary Reed?? Wild to find hidden away and also such a weird note to make lol
Thought it was super cool and thought this sub would think the same!

Why the bad grammar ?
This is an old trick to prove a bike is yours in case it gets swiped (stold), and you don’t have the serial number.
Bad spelling because Gary is a hipster.
An older generation used to love to write “stolen from” on everything considered valuable. You’re lucky yours is a note. I have a .22 with “stolen from” and full name and address engraved in the outer magazine well.
Should I be putting a note in my bars?
Need to give it back to Gary!
Cover it in plastic, add your own name and put it back for the next owner!
