I Just did this in our camry, however i usually take our subaru to bring my bike to the trails. One thing that i didnt like about it was i rode through dog crap and it was on my frame a little when i got in the car.

After the end of a long ride, I don’t even like to lift the bikes up onto my rack, it would really irritate me to have to play muddy bike Tetris stuffing two into a trunk.

Yeah it’s fine if your bike never gets muddy and you don’t want to take anything other than 1 bike lol… Also please do yourself a favor and put your bike drive side up if you are going to be doing this.

I’m riding an xl frame on 29s. Even on a bike rack it looks fuckin preposterous on my Subaru. I’ve fit it in the back but it sucks absolute ass to do.

Omg some much hate You still can have a dedicated car for groceries, weekend drives, office trips etc. I have just one. I need to carry my and my son’s bikes. And there’s no way to install a rack.

But, you can carry 4 bikes and your three mates in a truck. Or just get a van, they’re cheaper.

Buddy you have the bike in wrong side up. Nothing wrong with putting your bike inside the car, I’ve done it since I was 17, but its really not useful if you are riding with more than two people and it makes an almighty mess. I’ve got fully fitted rubber mats with integrated seat covers for this exact purpose, but they did cost more than a rack.

I used to do something like this with a Ford explorer. I think I got 3 bikes in there once. It works but I prefer a rack for simplicity. This was also back in the day of 26 inch wheels.

Why do you need have such a huge car? I transport my bike in a kia picanto. A car so small it probably fits on the back of an American pickup truck

I do this… I personally can’t stand the idea of my bike being outside my car in case I need to make a stop for gas or to go into a store. I have a trunk mat and I lay down a heavy blanket over the seat.

Do what you gotta do. I’d lay them drive train up though so you don’t screw up any hangers. You can also get a hitch installed pretty easily for a rack
