  1. 16 & 6 months old Junior Marines in Deal in Kent 36 of us, nine months later March 1976 nine of us completed training at CTCRM as fully fledged Royal Marine Commandos at the age of 17 +. Passed for duty by Lord Louis Mountbatten . No Cell phones no namby pamby stuff just had to dig deep.. great memories ! πŸ‘ πŸ™‚

  2. If you in your 20s and enlisting, are you put with these 17-year-olds? or you put in different training group for 18 and older? Because there is a huge difference between 21+ and 17 in maturity and how they will probably act and behave in training.

  3. At 16, you're trained to the highest level to handle a weapon and to kill the enemy without fear or mercy, but you still can't buy a beer at the pub cause you're under aged! Baffles me

  4. I would refuse to go caving as I suffer from claustrophobia. It is not being a coward. It is knowing your limits. I would prefer to go on a charge by the CO. You haven't got to be a caver to be a good soldier!
    I will own up. I'm an Officer!
    All soldiers have their strengths and weaknesses. Regrettably, some weaknesses remain. But you can still be a good British soldier!
