It’s also more a road bike rather than a gravel bike, can’t imagine you’d get decent sized tyres on an old Emonda

Not a bad bike by all means, just not really designed for gravel

  2. How much did you pay? Wouldn’t want to ride a welded frame TBH. A second hand frame + disc upgrade would take this to a very comfortable level. Swap the rest of the groupset and the fork to the new frame. Upgrade costs would be like 500-600 $ish without labor. Even a bc Flint would only cost 450€ in my area. But I know this is still a lot of money on top.

Sorry for you getting scammed but maybe a start of a new journey 🙂

As others have said, that’s a road bike, not a gravel bike.

That’s not cut and welded. It’d be very difficult to do on aluminum alloy. It looks like they’ve sanded away most of the paint and primer for some reason though and then covered it up with stickers.

What makes you believe it was cut and rewelded?

Highly doubt the frame was cut and welded. Anyone with the equipment and skills to weld thin wall aluminum that well wouldn’t be wasting their time trying to sell stolen bikes.

Bummer! Probably dented to hell removing the lock then sanded and filled/faired with epoxy. I wouldn’t trust it. Sorry to hear this is your intro to gravel :-(.

  6. Those were probably strong adhesive labels that were scratched off. Maybe identification, which could indicate stolen.

If it was welded together then the paint would show signs of being burnt from the heat, not being sanded down like it has been. Plus if someone had the skills to grind those welds down that smoothly then they wouldn’t cut a frame in half to reweld it.

They probably broke a lock using leverage in a way that damaged the frame. Possibly a leverage attack where the lock was on one tube and the other was used as the fulcrum. They definitely didn’t cut the frame and reweld it.
