  1. I love mine. I have an SWorks road bike and find myself taking my RIP 9 more and more often. If the frame size works for you, great.

  2. Its a great bike for off road mountain biking. More than a beginner bike but with the price of free. It wont make you wish you had more.

If you want to do long distant trail or road riding. Its the wrong bike. You loose a lot of energy in the suspension and the tires grip well but not as efficient with constant rolling forward. Take car tires for example, winter tires. Great in snow, work in summer but you burn through the tires and have worse performance on dry pavement. Racing slicks, amazing on dry pavement. In the snow….. you are in the ditch.

That bike is designed for jumps and drops and rough terrain.

Beginner? Point blank, the vast majority of MTB people will tell you to get a hard tail trail bike if you are a beginner.

However, this is dope and you should ride the shit out of it. One this is for certain, this thing will not hold you back.
