Hi, I’m gonna preface this by saying I am in no way mechanically minded and completely dumb when it comes to fixing things. Hence after a lot of googling and complete confusion I am appealing to you guys. I was carrying my Brompton in the back seat of my car for a long journey (trunk too small) and after I noticed something had fallen off. Google image search told me it was the indicator chain. Here is a photo of it and where i think it’s supposed to go in my bike.
I have no idea how to attach it (have tried, it’s not obvious to me anyway). Can anyone help? Thank you

Insert it into the axle and then it’s righty tightly (turning clockwise) . Needs a few twists for the threads to engage. Turn until right, then half turn back. After that I would adjust the gears again, there’s are guides for that, it’s not complicated, but pictures or a video makes it much clearer than I can do here with words.
