I’ve used Follow Me adapter for my kid and then a Trail Angel.
FollowMe uses a rear axle adapter, so it’s low to the ground and there aren’t many, if any, balance issues. Worked like a charm.
The TrailAngel attaches to the seatpost, and boy oh boy, is that thing wonky as hell. My kids a light weight, and still there were concerns whenever i took a turn. The seatpost clip would sometimes just move, no matter how tight i attached it.
Why all this? Because i see the same issue above. While it does attach to the dropouts, as far as i can tell, it also connects to the seatpost, and that gives me the shivers.

I’m frying my brain cells right now trying to understand that drivetrain and the gear ratios. Are there two chains on the front rear derailleur now? How is the rear chainring fitted into the chainlines? Why do I even have to say the words “front rear derailleur” or “rear chainring”? Wouldn’t the pedaling cadence be all sorts of off between the parent and the kid? Why couldn’t man just buy a trailerbike?

But tandems are so cheap? I bought one for a hundo last month.
