Flew from Aus to Auckland the other day and I’m meant to be starting a bike tour around the country tomorrow. I put the bike back together and it was riding well, but at the very end of a 30km ride today it shat the bed when shifting down to get up the driveway. I don’t remember bumping into anything that would cause this – maybe a pole at the end of the alley way before the house is possible, but man how was it so badly knocked out of place?
It’s a fairly new Surley Ogre 2023 model. I am new to bike maintenance and terminology but my understanding is that the rear derailleur is integrated into the steel frame rather than a replaceable hanger. The frame itself doesn’t look bent. The derailleur just seems banged up?
Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.
