We made it from Salida to Mosquito Pass before a hub blew up and food poisoning hit. Such is life. The highlight was doing Mt Elbert partway through. We rode up to 12,800’, walked the rest, and then the ride back down to the CT was one of the best descents I’ve ever ridden. Some of that was partly emotional and amplified by the views, but it was an amazingly rideable trail.

I rode an Ibis Ripley V4 and my friend a YT Izzo. Shoutout to Bikepacking Roots for putting together such a cool route – the folks who can do all 7 of the optional 14ers are hardy individuals indeed.
