I found these brake levers in my part bin that I believe are ‘universal’ due to the small ‘C’ and ‘V’ markings near the brake anchor mount but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to use the ‘C’ cantilever setting for my cantilever brakes. The only way I found a cable anchor to fit in the lever is using a simple circular anchor that fits into the deeper section. Any idea if these are compatible with short pull? Thanks!

Just a note to add – I’ve tried every type of cable I had on hand and none of them fit except the universal circular mtb brake cable
One forum post suggested that the usual distance from pivot point to cable anchor for a cantilever brake lever was 28mm, and for v brake levers was 35mm.
Not gospel by any means, but gives you an indication if it’s in the right ball park.
