  1. I hate everything that comes with driving a car: Expensive gas, expensive repair costs, expensive parking lots, expensive insurance… you get the gist.

  2. Smell the grass, smell the flowers, it gives me awesome legs and a great ass and I love the endorphins. Also the fact that most people can’t or only do it once a week, fk that. I can climb a hill like Merckx (in my mind), I can throw a football over that mountain!!! Jk it’s a nice get away from life.

Before biking I’d wake up every hour through the night, sometimes every half hour. Have been this way for as long as i can remember and I’m 28 now. Now I can sleep 2-3 hours at a time. I only woke up 3 times last night and I’ve felt so much less tired today

5mi does more for my chronic pain than drugs that make me nonfunctional. And it’s fun and faster around town than the car.

It helps me zone out from real world problems. Helps my anxiety and depression and makes me sleep better.

    I’m also in nyc btw!

Easy, fun way to get great exercise and explore the world around you. Why wouldn’t you ride?

  7. I don’t like jogging, it’s just so slow. When you are cycling, the environment around you changes much faster. It makes it a bit more exciting.

    I ride a 92 diamond back sorrento.

Love the design and frame geometry.

Riding cleats the body and mind especially riding in the right conditions

  10. Similar. I like to MOVE. It feels good to be the engine, to be able to hear, see, and interact with the world around you and not be sealed in a box. To be able to explore without the ball and chain of a car.

  11. It gives me unbearable easiness of spotless mind.
(Sorry, cant help but combine two movie titles in one sentence)

Health benefits and I just enjoy it. When I was working at the office, I commuted by bike. But then Covid.

I also am working on my Eddington number. Eight more rides to get to 68.

Fitness and fun. I hate going on walks or runs because I don’t travel very far and it gets boring.

I need to get from point A to point B. Biking is cheap, healthy, and I get fresh air. It is also just as fast as taking the bus or a car (if I owned one).

It’s a good outlet for my excessive energy and restlessness. Also I tend to overthink except for when my wheels hit the road and then my mind goes blank! It’s like I black out but in the best way possible

  16. To be honest, riding my bike is genuinely the only time in my life when I can confidently think and feel “yes, this is exactly where I should be and exactly what I should be doing right now.”

That’s a bit sad but it’s the truth
