Having to jump through so many hoops in order for your own insurance to cover you or not get scammed by insurance must feel so incredibly dystopian. Hopefully this video becomes irrelevant one day for most people. Until then, yeah it’s a decent amount of things to keep in mind.

There’s a class of injuries that health insurance companies will assume are due to a vehicle accident. Especially sprains, broken bones and injuries that require PT. You gotta remember that most adults are not active and it is pretty rare for most people to sustain these injuries*. They want to abrogate against they person that caused the injury to get the money back.
They will send you a QUESTIONNAIRE and it is really important to keep and eye out for it and return it.
When I pulled my shoulder at the gym and got PT, I was sent the questionnaire.
I responded that I hurt my shoulder participating in the wellness program that my company benefits program encouraged and they went away pretty quickly.
But, if you are involved with another driver, you need to put all the info you collected from the accident. They will want to go get the money from that insurance company. If you were alone, be sure to clearly state you were alone and nobody else was involved in the accident. That should speed thing up.
Don’t say “I fell off my bike.” Say, I was riding alone on a trail in Blue Sky recreational area when a fox ran across the path and into my front front wheel causing my bike to flip end over end ejecting me over the handlebars. The fox fled the scene of the accident.
*until you get old and start falling down.

God bless America. We pay taxes where I live, and we get a society which has hospitals which you can use when you fall off your bike.

Personal experience with front a back cams. Immediately after the accident I called the police and moved to a safe location away from the individual involved. When the police arrived I maintained my distance so she could make her case and not be affected by my presence. Of course she stated that I was at fault (entered her of path of travel).
The police officer than spoke with me and relayed that she stated I was at fault. Of course with a shitty eating grin I said would you like to see the video footage proving she was at fault?
Officer immediately agreed it was open and shut case, she was at fault.
Luckily I was not injured in any way and damage to my bike was minimal, so I opted to not seek any financial restitution, but that’s only because I was lucky.
**TL:DR – Get cams and have them on your bike or your person.**

Second time. Hit and stayed. Hit on a grade separated mup. Cop actually cited fault against car correctly. Insurance claimed cars have right of way on mup. Dragging into a 3year battle with my lawyer negotiating down, so medical payouts from at fault is less etc. meanwhile i had to front and float the medical and bike costs.
Third hit and run.
Fourth hit and run.
I dont even fault the hit and runs. I live in a democrat city. Back the blue no matter who at the polls. Democrat cities la, dc, atl, minneapolis, that a police call means a dead poor person who is being pushed to their physical and mental limits juggling multiple jobs and crushed dreams. They should run.
Itll get better when the democrats and their death cult are in our rearview mirror.
