For a long time I dreamed of having a nice bike with me when visiting my parents in the Black Forest in Germany during the vacations. With pure luck I stumbled upon a random ad on "Kleinanzeigen", where a guy wanted to sell a "self built roadbike" for 200€. Assuming it was trash I nevertheless looked through the pictures and was immediately fascinated by the beautiful steel frame, the colour and the origin from Japan. Not long after the bike was mine and today I got to do the first test kilometers and am still in love.
I really dig the subtle steel geometry, the space for bigger tires (right now some 35mm cyclo-cross tires) and the relaxed ride-Feeling.
I'm still not 100% confident with the canti brakes on our steep Blackforest descents, and I could use some extra gears when going uphill again.
When my love with this bike persists I might not leave it at may parents place and take it back home with me.
In that case I would probably change the handlebar for something with a little flare, the saddle, tires, and maybe some smaller gears for going uphill – maybe someone has got an idea for that, would a bigger cassette be an option here?

what chainring is that?
You could convert it _back_ to a 2x drivetrain.
Or you could get a larger rear cassette (CS-M4100-10) but you will need to use an adapter like the “wolftooth roadlink” to increase the “max cog” size.
Using a MTB rear derailleur will not index properly with your shifter as shimano made them different with the introduction of 10 speed road groupsets.
