    Anyone else resent the NYC cyclist guy


    I saw a video of him getting hit by a car (he was fine, like 10 mph crash, his own fault too) and literally no one felt bad for him and I gotta be honest I didn’t either. He’s just such an annoying guy and paints a bad look on us nice cyclists. He’s the reason people think I’m annoying for biking

    Edit: here is the guy I am referring to. Sorry guys. Also I never stated he deserves getting hit. All I said was I struggle to feel sympathy for him when he goes around yelling at people minding their own business just cause they somewhat inconvenienced him.

      Regardless, being annoying absolutely does not mean someone deserves to be hit by a car. It’s a super fucked up thing to say. One person is not the reason people think you’re annoying for cycling. That’s not how culture works.

      He is not the reason people think you’re annoying for biking. It’s pretty clear that your being annoying has nothing to do with you riding a bike.

      Would you say that motorists who drive into people intentionally trying to kill them and often succeeding in doing so give all motorists a bad name? Seems like more of a pressing issue than some rando jaywalking or running a red light going 10mph.

      I know who you’re talking about. But you can’t make a vague post like this, and expect that everyone follows any popular biker on social media. We live in times we’re everyone is famous for not doing anything special, just how whenever a new music artist gets famous and people are like who?

      But yeah to get to the point, I’ve personally never liked that guy. He doesn’t deserve to get hit by a car tho, no one does at that. But if you’re form NYC, you kind of know what to expect. This dude goes around acting like a male Karen, just yelling at any and everybody. And he’s mainly doing the shit just for content at that.

      NYC is not a city for the weak. Which why you’ll often see people do weird ass shit in public and folks will mind their business. Because it’s like a GTA lobby on steroids. It’s also a city that’s filled with anxiety and people who are on edge. So you have to expect people getting in your way as a biker, especially in this densely overpacked city. So you always have to be ready to be defensive, dodge the incoming annoyance, then just movdt on with your day like a sensible adult.

      This dude intentionally tries to hit people to make a point. Or yelling at every biker coming the wrong way or people that are overflowing a sidewalk because it’s no space. He’s one of those guys that just refuses to see it, from other’s perspective. Honestly he should just move out of NYC, go live in Amsterdam where it’s a perfect biking infrastructure lol.
