Icons for “public interest”, not necessarily planes…. although they are in this case cuz someone recorded a walk thru the museum. I’m not sure how they add them, but I would assume its like geo tagging pictures, or something.

bruh my brother lives right by travis air force base, i would have never thought to see this on my feed 😂😂
They use Mapbox, and the mapbox style editor allows you to select which features you want to display or hide from custom map styles. They just forgot to hide these or an OpenStreetMap editor tagged them incorrectly.

Strava lists a few data sources for their maps, but most of the POIs are coming from https://www.openstreetmap.org/
