I hope you are alright. I’m not a MTB rider but this video got me wondering in case of serious injuries in such remote places, how do you handle the situation?

    What to do next?

  2. There’s a crapload of cutoff brush right next to the trail, and looks like some roots sticking up. Fair chance it was some of that, which fell out when you stopped.

This is also why when doing trail work one should throw the cut off brush far away from the trail. Leaving it next to the trail (like the piece in the upper right of the frame in your last photo) is just inviting problems for users.

Even just animals crossing the trail (especially deer) will drag brush back into the trail.

Dude same happened to me last weekend. Was taking some rocks and a crap ton of exposed roots, felt like things were going fine then I got bucked forward and over. Once I detangled my self from the foliage and my bike I noticed a piece/chunk of root or a guess a stick was through my spokes and had jammed against the forks.

You don’t seem to be to banged up, and I got away fairly clean too. Was a huge frustration though.

  4. You can see the little 6 inch stick at the 5 second mark. You ride right over it and immediately you hear a ping and you go down. I guess the wheel went over the very end and knocked it up like a see-saw into the spokes.
