Hi there! I really hope my build is porn enough.

I've been searching for a capable gravel bike with downtube storage for a while, and when BMC released the new Roadmachine platform I had no doubt: this is it!
As I'm very fastidious regarding equipment, a major overhaul was needed: basically only the frame is stock. 🫣

Full specs:
BMC Roadmachine 01 X
BMC road ICS stem
Specialized S-works Aerofly II drop bars
Specialized S-works power saddle
SRAM RED shifters
SRAM RED crankset, 40t chainring with QUARQ spider
SRAM EAGLE XX1 derailleur
SRAM EAGLE XX1 bronze 10-52 cassette with matching chain
ROVAL CLX50 rims
Pirelli Cinturato gravel RC X 35mm tubeless

Bonus: Gloworm X2 front light with internally routed 10000mAh battery neatly stored in the downtube.
Also ditched the integrated battery on the stock rear light, and connected it to the main front light battery with some DIY and a standard 5V DC-DC converter.
There is so much room down there that I can still store the tool bag! And probably a few snacks as well.

  1. That’s a really nice build, what’s the tire clearance for the new roadmachine X?

Hey how did you mount the light from the top onto the Garmin mount? Bike looks so good

What is the geometry tyre size for this bike? By design, not what can be fitted, just questioning how a 40mm tyre will affect it’s handling on the road,in comparison with, say 28mm.
Also, is the road machine a gravel bike these days?
I am not very familiar with bmc bicycles, specially since the 2015-16 roadmachine.
