I am using my specialized allez e5 2020 for the past 2 years. I just noticed this paint bubble at top tube. How to repair this? will this affect frame integrity?
I don’t think the frame lost it’s integrity. If you want to be sure, you’ll have to poke it a bit and maybe scratch that paint away to see whats beneath.

I had the same thing happen, same place. The corroded area needs sanding and then protecting somehow. I used nail varnish

thanks, hopefully not bad

I might be wrong, but aluminium doesn’t corrode, that’s just the paint bubbling, probably due to poor paint prep.

Yes it is corrosion and no, it is very unlikely to do anything to the strength of your frame. Aluminum oxidizes very easily, so easily that it will form a passive layer on it surface very quickly it is mostly a cosmetic problem but if you want to stop it from spreading you need to sand off the paint and a bit of the surrounding area and apply a protective layer on top.

Oh, Specialized again. There was a post about a Specialized bike some time ago, where most of the frame looked far more worse than this.
