  1. I have collected quite a few of these parts over the years so I didn’t drop all this cash at once. But in case someone out there has huge designs on a rebuild it’s nice to see what all this actually costs.

    * MoongooseHill Topper $80
    * Origin8Citi Classic Handlebars $36
    * ATOCIRCLE Saddlebag $10
    * Steel Wire Basket $5
    * Sunlite Gold Tec Front Rack $25
    * SimWorks by Panaracer Volummy Tire x 2 $128
    * Bell Inner tube x 2 $13
    * Shimano cables/housing $10
    * Velo Orange Copenhagen Double kickstand $40
    * Sinewave Cycles Beacon Dynamo Light $350
    * Shimano DH-3n72 $130
    * Busch + Muller Micro Taillight $80
    * Arundel Loony Bin $25
    * Nuclear Sunrise Silo $40
    * ESI Chunky Mountain bike Grips $20
    * KMC 8 Speed Chain $17
    * LBS 26″ Wheel Build $150
    * Total: $1159

    I tried pretty hard to get Ghetto tubless to work but these rims and tires just aren’t gonna let it happen. I didn’t include the cost of regreasing everything and hot-waxing the chain because that’s maintenance… or something.

    edit: shoutout to u/gus_thedog for the front light mount idea.

    Around here we just say we made it “with a few spare parts from the bin”

    I for one appreciate the honesty haha

  3. You did the right thing. These parts last a long time and the truth is that itโ€™s very fun to find them.
