Thoughts between these two bikes? The Synapse is $100 more. Both come with 12-speed Shimano 105 (mechanical) and weight is about the same. It looks like the Synapse was very recently updated since Cannondale's website is missing specs.

Main differences that I can tell are:

Rims

  • Synapse: DT Swiss R470
  • Domane: Bontrager Paradigm SL

Saddle

  • Synapse: Fizik Aliante Delta
  • Domane: Verse Short

Tires

  • Synapse: Vittoria Zaffiro Pro Graphene 2.0, 700x30c
  • Domane: Bontrager R1 Hard-Case Lite, wire bead, 60 tpi, 700x32mm

Domane can fit up to 38mm without fenders and 35mm with fenders. Officially Synapse only up to 32mm, but it has 6mm on each side.

Synapse comes with a few extras, top tube bag, wheel sensor, and their SmartSense feature (obviously depends on how you feel about that and if you want to buy those items).

I'm not as concerned about aero/speed as much as comfort on long rides (50-60mi on weekend long rides, but would like to do a 100miler and 200miler in the next year). I plan to test ride them both, but wanted to see if I'm missing anything major where one is better than the other.
