What is the deal here? Is this your bike and you want to sell it? Are you thinking about buying? What is the deal?

This is a great road bike. Dated, but still awesome. That Shimano 10 speed group is sooo good. It really does shift and preform fantastic. There are some quirks with it, for example, the pull ratio of the rear mech (maybe both mechs) is unique to that specific group. Therefor, unlike other generations of Shimano where you can mix and match components from different spec levels as long as they are the same gen, you cannot do this with this group, aside from the cranks, chain, cassette, and brakes. If you ever need to replace a derailleur or shifter on this bike, you’ll need to find a Dura Ace 7900 component, nothing else will work. And, those shifters are getting expensive. I learned this lesson the hard way after a crash on this group.

Other than that, the TCR is, and always will be, an awesome bike. This gen, and this bike in particular, will be very, very stiff. Especially in the saddle, and on this specific bike, the handlebars (that stem is notoriously stiff and was built specifically for big strong sprinters). All high end carbon road bikes of this era were very stiff, too much so, and since, we’ve seen the industry spend a lot of R&D into softening the ride.

I sold an old steel road bike with this group on it and Zipp 303 wheels for $1600 a few years ago. This bike lacks the nicer wheels, but is a much higher end frame.

If you want a boneshakingly stiff race bike with tight gearing and low weight, this a great deal at $600.
