I am looking into upgrading from my 2011 stumpjumper and found the Salsa Blackthorn Carbon SLX on sale for $2200 at REI. Am I missing something? The price seems to good to be true as compared to other bikes with similar components. I might have to jump on it considering REI's generous return policy. https://www.rei.com/product/199784/salsa-blackthorn-carbon-slx-mountain-bike?sku=1997840003&store=30&CAWELAID=120217890016405321&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=113279934153&CATCI=pla-297455113653&cm_mmc=PLA_Google%7C21700000001700551_1997840003%7C92700058217368285%7CBA%7C71700000074726922&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw2ou2BhCCARIsANAwM2FlF6kHgrRFoxVBU6uOXQDPU881zkkV9zOXvRsvKc36AmMk-BOLrGkaAhPnEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

pick up only. aka, in-store deal. otherwise Salsa is a decent brand and there shouldn’t be any specific worries about the build or quality. also being sold through REI is a huge bonus, in terms of warranty/return/etc. Not so much service though lol. I may recommend getting it serviced at a normal bike shop (it depends).
Also its only size large. Sounds like literally one bike. But ya if you’re in that area and it all fits you… It’s a steal of a steal of a deal
I am wondering if it is a… Return or something. I don’t think they do rentals. They’d absolutely have to mention that but ya not sure. Even if it was a return I’d probably send it if the bike was clearly not used. Sometimes that just means you forfeit return potential… But a brand warranty is still a warranty. As long as you have that receipt. Salsa has to do right by you.
Salsa just approved a blowout, go find one if you can. Smoking deals
I have the Carbon Cassidy SLX and have loved it. Looking to get a smaller frame though and swap everything to it. Just make sure you look at the geometry specs cause it seems like their size range runs on the larger side compared to some other brands.
