  1. How did this happen?

«my first blowout». Sounds like you think this is an ordinary thing. I haven’t experienced this one single time over my 17 years on the bike now.

Edit: and no, you can not use that tire again.

  2. The thing that holds the tire on my rim sheered off, is it still usable?

    See how dumb that sounds?

  3. You got me till the 3rd pic 🤣

Edit: not usable anymore, alas! Cause is probably tire was too old, or overinflated. Can’t rule out manufacturing defect, but I don’t really think it’s likely. It could be still usable, but as a belt, not as a tire. Get a new one!

  4. Read the comments and thought everyone was being harsh af. The I realised there were more than the first photo 😂

It looks like you had a blow out because your tire wasn’t fully seated. I wouldn’t reuse that tire, although I don’t think that’s the bead that has come off, only the rubber the covers the bead, but still…

Get a decent quality tire and make sure it’s fully seated to your rim before you ride.

  6. The tire might be good enough to ride on slowly and get you to a bike shop for a new tire, but another blowout is inevitable.

Absolutely not. The tube is done for (obviously) and the tire will likely slip off the rim if you try to use it again. Just bite the bullet and buy a new tire before you end up biting a curb instead.

First two: ok, that might not be terrible for a little while.

Third pic: ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THAT
