I have 200mile ride planned for tomorrow, today I discovered this on the front tire while doing the final check-up. The ride is on a good quality road, is this still doable or do I need to worry?
It doesn’t seem to be very deep.
I really like to do the ride as it was planned for a long time and I can’t swap the tire before it.

Put a patch on the inside and should be ok.
If the threads of the tyre are intact (which appears to be the case) then ride on!
You might want to fill the crack with some super glue (the gel stuff works best) just to stop anything getting worked in there and stuck.
I’d also probably swap tyres around and put this on the rear (unless your current rear is already quite worn- assuming both tyres are as fresh as this one looks you should be fine).
Remember this is Reddit though, where people love telling you to replace the slightest thing lest it spontaneously combust.
Why take the risk? Just replace it. If the inner tube comes out through the crack you’ll regret “saving” 35 bucks.

I wouldn’t have even noticed this to be perfectly honest…
Absolutely no issue in my opinion, my contis have loads of marks like this, never had a problem.
No I wouldn’t; unless you are willing to take the risk of a broken tire in the middle of the ride.
Yeah I would
Yes, most likely that has already been like that for hundreds of miles before your even noticed
If it has you concerned, peace of mind is more important to me than anything, especially in endurance where you have enough to think about already. I typically bring a spare 700×28 folding tire with me for rides longer than 300k, as well. I’ve had to use it…
