I have an issue with my shoes. The problem is that my feet fall asleep sometimes, especially in the evening, when feet are larger.. I really think it is because my shoes are too small…well at least I am convinced after taking the picture. They seem not only too short but too narrow as well.
I am usually wearing an EU size 44.5. These are Giro Rincon 45. Afaik they're supposed to be for wider feet, but well, not enough. Otherwise I love them :-/ Any recommendation for Widefoot?

I have wide feet and shimano do a specific wide fit in some of their models that work well for me
Have you had a proper bike fit done? I had numbing in feet that a bike fit solved. It was saddle position related.
My feet did fall asleep too because my saddle didn‘t properly fit my physique. I changed my saddle and it went away. Just FYC.
The balls of my feet fell asleep on longer rides. I got metatarsal support pads from Amazon and put them on my insoles. Took care of the problem almost immediately.
Now I’m trying to find an Amazon product to help my shitty climbing ability!
Have you tried experimenting with your clip positioning? I moved mine around a few times and mine has gone away.
Your shoes are definitely too small and that is often a cause of foot numbness. Besides being too narrow you probably need to go up half or a full size anyway.
My normal shoes are all Lems and Altra with anatomically correct toe boxes rather than smashing my toes together. Unfortunately I can’t find any cycling shoes with a similar shape. Lake’s wide last is close. Trek has released new shoes with much wider looking toe boxes and I really want to try some out too.
Not sure as I don’t use them myself, but have heard that Lake make seriously good shoes for wider feet.
Lake shoes are the answer
It’s probably your ankle socks !!!
I typically wear a 42 and I’ve found that sizing up in almost every brand is the answer for me.
I have a pair of Lake and several pairs of Bont shoes, and I’ve sized up to 43 in all of them. Also, go with the wide size, maybe even double wide. Your feet will always get bigger as you get further into rides and you need space in your shoes for that.
Bont Riots are a great value.
I had the same, swapped to flat pedals so I could move positions on the pedal more. Much better and didn’t see much loss in efficiency only on the steepest of hills.
Wide footed guy here too. Get yourself some Lake shoes. They’re expensive, but SO comfortable.
It might be your boa system. I had an issue with my feet but then I changed to a two boa shoe and that fixed it. If the tightening mechanism is on top of your foot then that is causing the issue
In addition to a wider shoe, go up in length as well. I wear a half size larger that what I would normally consider the correct fit, as after a few hours of cycling/foot swelling my shoes will cause numbness in my toes.
Bont asian fit shoes 👌🏻

There’s a new GMC episode that specifically rates shoes from worst to best. It’s worth a watch.
I have somewhat similar feet with having the widest part after the ball, and i can fully recommend any shoe by lake. Their wide fit is actually wide.
Those shoes are WAY to small! Go up at least a size and be aware of width and volume of the shoes. Your toes should never ever touch the front of the shoes, not even when flexing.
That’s why I ride flat pedals in five ten freeriders
I feel you.
I measured my feet and going by the chart I’m 47 wide and 41 long.
Had to settle on a size 43 on a wide-ish shoe, cleats all the way back and a ton of toe overlap, and sometimes my feet still want to go numb (it’s especially bad in the winter).
Even 510 Freeriders feel narrow to me 😂
can echo everyone else’s experience, I had some narrow Scott shoes that made one set of toes fall asleep after 45 minutes. wider toebox solves the issue.
