I’ll give context. Bar is 6 months old. Installed with a torque wrench, and confirmed with one when I got home.  I felt the bar go soft on my previous lap. I thought it was some changes to my damper and ignored it.  I was riding at pace practicing for an event this weekend.  Luckily it failed in a slow speed section when I changed direction on a catch berm.

Edit: I am fine. I of course fell through the bike when the bar snapped.  My traps were sore for a day, that’s it. Thank goodness for lifting heavy,l frequently and my leatt c collar. It absolutely limited the torque on my C spine

  2. I have several carbon bikes with carbon wheels. But I run alloy bars on all my bikes. You could give me high end carbon bars for free. They would instantly go on pinkbike buy/sell. Glad you’re OK.

That’s why I refuse carbon bars for MTB. I know they’re plenty strong, but when they fail, they fail catastrophically.

New to carbon. So this is a manufacturing defect which lead to premature failure, yes? Most carbon bars hold up as well as alloy?
