I haven’t ridden a bike in ~12 years, but used to love riding. It was my primary method of transportation for a while (work, groceries, bars, everything).
I stumbled upon you folks on Reddit and decided I needed to build a bike up. It was a fun adventure. I found an old barely used Litespeed Classic frame on Facebook marketplace and stripped it down. I love the proportions and 1” head tube. Then I purchased new everything along with all of the tools for tearing it down and performing the install. Taking ~25yo components off was no bueno especially the crank and bottom bracket.
I ended up putting SRAM Force on it so I didn’t have to worry about cable routing. Slim pickings for 1” forks so Columbus Minimal there. Luckily I like the way it looks! If I had known how rare parts were for that I probably would have found a frame with a 1 1/8” steerer tube.
First ride was this morning and some random thoughts. Electronic shifting is a miracle. It isn’t totally dialed in at the moment as the high/low limit screws need a little adjustment but it is still a revelation compared to my 2009 SRAM force.
The fork will get cut down and/or stem flipped. Will probably end up with a shorter stem as well. Then again I’m 45 and not all that flexible these days. Something to work on 😀
