  1. Spoke guard. It is affectionately known as a “dork disc” seriously. It is supposed to prevent the chain (if it were to pop off) from getting stuck in the spokes of the wheel. You can remove it.

    While most people will tell you to remove it, you should also learn about derailleur limits and how to properly set them before you do.

  3. I just cut mine off instead of removing the cassette. Won’t affect any feature, but make sure shifting is solid before removing (just in case).

    Ah, ”dork disc” it is then! I have it. There’s nothing wrong to have it, though?
