  1. I’m no lockpicking lawyer, but those locks were surprisingly easy to feel out where the gates are if you have the patience. I was pretty surprised.

I’ve watched enough lockpicking lawyer videos on YouTube to hazard a guess. If you just try to pull the lock open a little and spin each wheel one at a time, you’ll be able to feel one letter on each wheel that feels different, it’ll either turn easier or it’ll bind up. That’s the right letter for that wheel. Then you just repeat that for each of the four wheels. If you go to YouTube and search “lockpicking lawyer combination bike lock,” you’ll probably find a dozen videos demonstrating this.

  3. Only 456,976 combinations to try if that includes every letter of the alphabet on every dial!

  4. Move the letters while lighting pulling on the lock. It will eventually unlock itself.

  5. Some locks – once you get the first letter correct and try to pull it apart, the first letter will remain static while the others wiggle. As with the second letter after getting the first correct. And so on.  You may be able to see between the letters – looking for a groove or a channel.

  6. If you want you can FaceTime me and we can roll through troubleshooting it open together.

Only 999 to go. Or go buy a cordless angle grinder with a cutting disc, than you can unlock any bike you need.
