Currently riding a 1998 Cannondale R300 with Shimano RSX components so anything will be an upgrade. I was initially going to buy a Giant Revolt 2 with Sora components for $1350. Is it worth it to spend $2000 on a Specialized Diverge Elite E5 or a Trek Checkpoint ALR5 for $2500. Both have hydraulic brakes and GRX components. The Trek has slightly better specs. Is there a big difference between the Sora and GRX parts? Will I outgrow the Revolt quickly and be looking to upgrade anyways? Love the paint on the Trek but it seems like $2500 could be better spent on a carbon frame.

All of these I can get from local stores and test ride. I know some brands like Canyon will have these options beat in price but for my first new gravel bike I don’t want to risk an online order that might not be a good fit.
Giants are fine bikes. Get whatever $2K of Giant will get you.
