  1. It will make such little difference with that short amount of hose in the bars. Just tape it as it is. If you follow the curve of the bars behind the hood you’ll lose a couple of inches of length easily.

  2. Since the hoses aren’t routed into the head tube anyway, I would definitely run them on the outside of the handlebar. Personally, I would then extend the bar tape a bit further than to the first hole.

    May I ask what handlebar it is?

    It’s a bit hard to tell but looks like the front brake hose is rubbing on your head tube, I would definitely shorten that hose or loosen it at the caliper mount and rotate it so it bends away from the frame.

    Then if you’re shortening them anyways I’d route through the bars if you want it a bit cleaner. If you’re unsure about the bars and think you might swap back to your old bars probably don’t want to internally route.

    I probably wouldn’t cut them unless I couldn’t get the front hose to not rub the frame.

  4. I have a similar set up and am using a new handlebar install as an excuse to shorten the hoses and make it a bit neater out front. Been meaning to do it for a while
