I’m getting my first road bike. Want to start with a decent budget bike for now.
For buying a brand new bike, most subreddits suggest getting the Triban RC120 from Decathlon. It’s $750 (CAD) right now in Canada.

I also found a used Marin Gestalt on Facebook marketplace for $850 CAD. It’s in good condition.

The key differences I noticed are:
Fork: The RC120 has a carbon fork. Gestalt has an aluminum fork.
Shifters and derailleurs: The Gestalt has shimano claris components. The RC120 has microshift components.
Is it worth going for the Gestalt just for the Shimano components? Is there anything else that makes one bike better than the other?
